About
Museum of the Home is excited to announce its upcoming March 2025 Online Auction, taking place from Friday 21 to Monday 24 March 2025. The auction will raise vital funds to support the Museum’s vision to live better together—harnessing the power of co-creation, learning and advocacy to create positive social change beyond the Museum’s walls.
Funds raised will support projects that actively improve the lives of local residents and visitors.
This includes:
- The co-production of a Discovery Garden with local school children and families. Teaching valuable skills and sharing knowledge around nature, growing and wellbeing in an area where 70% of local residents have no access to a private or shared Garden.
- Creating space for activism through Home Truths talks, workshops and programming. Past Home Truths have focused on topics such as homelessness, discrimination, racism, decolonial practice and what they mean for today’s society.
- Advocating for food equality across the UK: Supporting Hackney Foodbank to deliver their service from the Museum and delivering a young people’s project on school dinners and lunchboxes in partnership with the Food Museum in Suffolk.
Museum of the Home exists to illuminate these current issues which affect people’s experiences and ideas of home. Every year, we must raise over £1 million to close the gap between our government funding and the minimum cost of running the Museum.
By supporting the online auction as a prize donor, bidder, or by helping the auction reach new audiences, you can have a direct impact on our ability to provide these life-changing activities and opportunities.
