About the online auction

This auction will raise vital funds to support the Museum’s vision to live better together—harnessing the power of co-creation, learning and advocacy to create positive social change beyond the Museum’s walls.

By bidding, you can support projects that actively improve the lives of our local residents and visitors. These include:

  • The co-production of a Discovery Garden with local school children and families. Teaching valuable skills and sharing knowledge around nature, growing and wellbeing in an area where 70% of local residents have no access to a private or shared garden.
  • Creating space for activism through Home Truths talks, workshops and programming. Past Home Truths have focused on topics such as homelessness, discrimination, racism, decolonial practice and what they mean in today’s society.
  • Advocating for food equality across the UK; supporting Hackney Foodbank to deliver their service from the Museum.

Why support us?

Museum of the Home exists to illuminate these current issues which affect people’s experiences and ideas of home. Every year, we must raise over £1 million to close the gap between our government funding and the minimum cost of running the Museum.

By supporting the online auction as a prize donor or bidder - or by simply helping the auction reach new audiences - you can directly impact our ability to provide these life-changing activities and opportunities.

How you can take part

Pre-register at the link below to get direct updates on the auction. Bidding will open on Friday 21 March at 12.30pm. Bidding will close on Sunday 23 March at 9pm.
