August Family Day: Upcycled heirlooms
Discover the art of upcycling at our August Family Day, where recycled objects find new life as cherished heirlooms. Join us to dismantle, experiment, and reimagine everyday materials into unique creations.
Just like people, objects make journeys, taking on new forms and meanings along the way. At the Museum there are lots of recycled objects: from a keg barrel that became a jerk pan to lottery tickets that became a swan! These objects have been carefully renewed and transformed, becoming treasured family heirlooms.
What new heirlooms could you make? Join us in our construction workshop: choose from our collection of recycled materials, then dismantle, tinker and re-build to create something worthy of the mantelpiece!
All materials will be provided, but please bring along your own upcycling and recycled materials if you’d like to!
Free, no booking required.
