Christmas Banister is up on the Museum's Kingsland Gardens during the Winter Season.
The work is inspired by the sometimes-overlooked transitional spaces that hold our homes together, like staircases and corridors. This unconventional Christmas tree is born from Honey Birch’s lived experience as a queer adoptee, their research into the Museum’s collection of staircases and spindles, and contributions from the LGBTQ+ community.
About Honey Birch
Honey Birch (they/them) is a research led storyteller working collaboratively across moving image, 3D design, poetry, curation, and creative facilitation. With an interest in the blurred borders between imagined lives and reality they often explore their intersectional identity as a British, queer, Chinese adoptee.
