Free entry
Self-guided group visits are free, but you must book. We are always grateful for donations to support the museum, either online when you book, or by card and cash when you visit.
On the day of your visit, please split in smaller groups to visit the galleries. We recommend groups of approximately 10-12 people to avoid overcrowding in our small gallery spaces. You can inform us of any access requirements you have when you book.
You can arrange a group visit on any Tuesday–Friday in four bookable timeslots:
- 11am
- 12pm
- 2pm
- 3pm
If you are planning a group visit on a weekend, or you are planning more formal, directed research, guiding or drawing, please email us so that we can ensure it does not clash with any planned activity.

“Our guide gave us an excellent tour, so much knowledge and so well presented. We all found it very interesting, not only all that we saw in the museum, but learning so much about the area and the people living in it, past and present. ”
