Creating a period room

The real room in the real house that helped us refresh the look of our Victorian parlour.
An installation view of A Townhouse in 1878 at the Museum. A deep red carpet and mint green patterned wall paper room holds framed artworks on the wall, fireplace and a mirror on the mantel, table with wooden chairs, writing desk, and piano. On the floor are children's toys and dolls as well as an ayah's trunk full of textiles.
A blurred figure walks across a room in front of weathered looking panels and windows showing a model of a city.
