Group visits

Self-guided group visits are free, but you must book. We are always grateful for donations to support the museum, either online when you book, or by card and cash when you visit.

On the day of your visit, please split in smaller groups to visit the galleries. We recommend groups of approximately 10-12 people to avoid overcrowding in our small gallery spaces. You can inform us of any access requirements you have when you book.

You can arrange a group visit on any Tuesday–Friday in four bookable timeslots:

• 11am
• 12pm
• 2pm
• 3pm

We offer private tours and talks, delivered by members of the Curatorial and Visitor Experience departments, by arrangement. Please email bookings@museumofthehome.org.uk to enquire. 

Tour and talks include:

• Curator-led tour of the museum galleries | up to 15 people
• Guided tour of Almshouse 14* | up to 12 people
• Introductory talk followed by a self-led tour | up to 25 people
• Textiles Through Time with Collections Officer Echo Godfrey | up to 15 people

*Almshouse 14 retains its original structure, so is not accessible to wheelchairs or some mobility aids. If you would like clarity on this, please mention it in your email enquiry.

If you are planning a group visit that includes more formal, directed research, guiding or drawing, please email us so that we can ensure it does not clash with any planned activity.
