Please read our terms and conditions before you book a visit for your school group.

During the visit your school group will explore what home means to you through a range of stories about Hackney homes. If you have booked a workshop the facilitator will lead discussion and creative activities to explore our own experiences of home in further detail. We’re aware that everyone’s experience of home is different, and that exploring home could be upsetting or unsettling for some students. If you would like further information about Museum and/or workshop content, resources and adaptations we can implement to look after school groups, please email schools@museumofthehome.org.uk
Confirmation of sessions
We consider any booking made by a school representative over the phone or online as confirmed unless you request a provisional booking. Please make sure that you confirm your provisional booking as soon as possible, or risk losing the slot.
We will email you your booking confirmation, which includes important information for the session.
Payment
Online bookings through our website take payment by card. If you require an invoice, please email bookings@museumofthehome.org.uk or call 020 7739 9893 (Monday–Thursday only). We will send an invoice for your session once your visit is confirmed. It will include full payment instructions.
Payment by invoice is due 6 weeks in advance of the session date. If we do not receive payment in advance of the session, we will treat the booking as cancelled and apply the below terms. If there are any outstanding charges you will not be able to proceed with any current or future bookings.
Cancellation
If you need to cancel your session, please email bookings@museumofthehome.org.uk.
If you give us more than 4 weeks’ notice, there will be no charge. For 2 to 4 weeks’ notice, we will charge 50% of the cost, and for less than 2 weeks’ notice, we will require full payment.
Museum of the Home reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the booking due to unforeseen circumstances. We make every effort to minimise disruption to your booking and, if necessary, we will offer a refund. Museum of the Home does not accept liability for any other additional costs you may incur.
