Tours last 45 minutes and start promptly. Capacity is limited, please arrive in good time to avoid disappointment.

Our regular public Almshouse 14 guided tours are free drop-ins, with an optional donation.

Check in at the Welcome desk upon arrival at Museum of the Home to reserve a spot.

Life in the almshouses

Almshouses are charitable housing provided to people in need, who belong to a particular community. Our almshouses once housed 50 pensioners as well as staff.
