Folk Family Day

We’ll have fun crafting activities – come along to make your own Vietnamese dancing fish using paper-crafts, or decorate our Mini Playhouse with others to add your unique spin on our den.  

In our Learning Pavillion

Join artist Melanie Wheeler for a cyanotype print workshop inspired by folk stories within the Museum’s collections. You will explore the rich histories of objects from the collection and natural materials from our garden, combine these to make your own folk inspired cyanotype print.

The workshop will use cyanotype chemicals, paper, fabric, water and sunlight. All materials will be provided. 

Our Family Day event is free of charge, any donations are warmly received. Walk-up visits are welcome, but booking a ticket helps us to plan for the day.

Suitable for all ages – children must be accompanied by their adult.

Also on this day is Tales That Dance, an event full of music, dancing and colourful props with performance storyteller Wendy Shearer.
