Folk Tales in Ink and Paper

Jeet will guide participants through the process behind his richly textured paintings, exploring how ink, water, paper, and gesture interact to create unexpected forms and imagery; using the same materials found in his artistic practice including washi paper, Dó paper, and sumi ink.

Drawing inspiration from Vietnamese folklore, symbols, and storytelling traditions, participants will experiment with techniques used in the exhibition while creating their own original works. 

Open to artists, designers, complete beginners, and anyone curious about image-making across cultures. No previous experience is needed. Participants may take home their experimental artworks. 

All materials provided.

This talk responds to the Echoing Whispers: Treasury of Vietnamese Folk Tales display at the Museum. The display is free to visit in The Hive during the Museum’s opening hours. A creative programme of talks and workshops runs alongside the display in June and July.
