The Weavers of Spitalfields: In Conversation with Christopher Farr and Chris Dyson

Part of London Textile Month, with programmes running throughout September 2026.

Matthew Bourne, co-founder of Christopher Farr, and Chris Dyson join Museum of the Home's Echo Godfrey, Curatorial Officer, and Ailsa Hendry, Collections Manager, chaired by editor and crafts specialist Tamsin Blanchard.

This In Conversation event will discuss the inspiration behind the ‘Spitalfields’ Rug, a modern interpretation of an historic fragment of Huguenot silk tapestry, installed in the Museum’s 1690s period room as part of London Textile Month.

This contemporary design is a collaboration between rug experts Christopher Farr and local resident and architect Chris Dyson.

In collaboration with CF Editions, a partner brand to expert rug producers Christopher Farr, we have launched five art-inspired rugs available for a limited time in our Museum shop. Available to order online, or pair your visit with a stop in our on-site shop to view the rugs on display during London Textile Month.
