Winter Woodcut Workshop - Museum of the Home

Join artist and printmaker, Alex Booker, to welcome in the festive period by spending a day learning and creating prints through the use of traditional tools, inks and techniques. Make your own cards, decorations, wrapping paper and bespoke woodblock prints, as gifts for loved ones. All materials, refreshments, mince pies and festive cheer included in the woodcut printing workshop.

His work explores the properties of ink and wood, with his studio practice involving his fascination for historical narrative, found imagery and the natural world.

Trained at the University of Brighton and Camberwell College of Arts, Alex has exhibited his print artworks internationally, notably at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and at art and design events, including London Design Festival. As well as producing artworks, Alex runs regular woodcut printing workshops in his studio, offering a hands-on introduction into one of our most ancient forms of image-making.
